June Adventures

In the growth race of Caroline vs the evergreen shrub Caroline has the lead at year one

Hanging out in the back yard is a favorite activity

Catching some Z's on the way to Atlanta. Who do you think is cuter?

Father's day / Heather's birthday lunch at the Brickery

Four generations of Roark/Losey/Ehmann women

Friends from grad school, Sarah and Sean, visited from London with their son Owen

Owen is a happy baby. He even went to see his first Sox game.
He was fine until the crowd would cheer loudly and startle him. Being Fenway, this would happen almost every inning. Nevertheless, he lasted until 10 pm!

Caroline insists on having a spoon in hand at all times while eating.
Of course, with this yogurt she decided to use her hand as a utensil, too.

Caroline is learning her animal names and sounds. She knows more names than sounds and defaults to "moo" for unknown animals. We really confused her by showing her a moose. Does anyone know what a moose sounds like? Maybe "moo" is the right answer.

I believe this is called a tired cue. After seeing the butterfly garden and all those stuffed animals at the Museum of Science, she is wiped out.

After a five-hour delay and two-hour luggage mishap (our bag was on a different plane from us both legs of this trip) we arrived in Flint, Michigan for Amanda Roark's wedding. Caroline was a real trooper throughout the day, entertaining herself in the airport terminals. Others were entertained as well. As passengers disembarked from the delayed flight, one couple said, "That's the girl who was licking the floor this morning. She sure has been good."
We haven't noticed any ill-effects from the floor wax consumption.

Amanda walking down the aisle with her Dad, Heather's Uncle Leonard.
During the ceremony, Caroline made a scene by pulling up her dress to expose her chest and then proceeding to inspect her belly button. Apparently somebody caught it on film but we're waiting to see it for ourselves.

Amanda (and all the Roarks) are great with kids

She wants to jump so badly, but all she can manage is this tiptoe rise.

Climbing on the toddler seat at the table became a fun game

Uncle Leonard and Aunt Diane were great hosts for the wedding and reception

There were several kids at the reception and they ran around in a large pack... with Caroline about 10 feet behind at all times. They all boogied on the dance floor, including the belly button inspector. She partied until 9:30, when Mom & Dad had to drag her away. We hope that she doesn't get used to staying up this late every night!
