Kin in Kentucky

On the way down to the Carty reunion we detoured into Ohio to log another new state. That, and Caroline wanted a cold brewski.

Then we viewed the mighty Ohio River from the Indiana side

It was great to see everyone at the Carty reunion in Girdler, Kentucky. Here, Erin has almost figured out how to crawl

Lilyana, Amanda's new baby, was very cute

And Uncle Leonard loved to hold Erin

Up at the family cemetery to see Great-grandma's tombstone

Later that night Erin did put it all together... and she's been on the go ever since

Back at home she spends some bonus time with Mom at night

Claire, Peter and the girls stopped by on their way up to Maine. We shared our enormous blueberry crop with them.

Mixmaster Peter instructed Dad on making Amaretto sours

Caroline had a blast running through the sprinklers. In fact all the girls did, but without bathing suits on the photos are not publishable.

Sabrina and Caroline were extra silly together

Brooke was able to keep up with the big girls

Later that weekend Jon and Heather visited from the West Coast

Caroline and Ansel played well together, too.

Camp Katy's

On the way back from California and all its fiscal problems we stopped to stay at Boxwood Farm in Maryland. As always Aunt Katy and Uncle Brad had their place in spectacular shape. The Ehmann cousins had fun with the Harris cousins and Ehmann-Jones cousins. The weather was perfect and so was the pool. We wish that we lived closer!

Erin was a water baby from day one. Caroline needed some convincing but soon adjusted to swimming in her flotation suit.

Splish-splash!

Bubble time with Lyla was a huge hit

and so were the scones that Aunt Claire made for us

Dad taught Caroline one of life's simple pleasures - eating Doritos right out of the bag

There were even more cows (and flies) than last time

Sabrina was good with the little ones

With three hungry toddlers, Katy's garden got picked clean every day

We tried and tried to get a group photo but it was impossible. Here's one with four adults smiling and all six kids looking away. There's always next year...

Grampa Ed and Grandma Joan with the littlest ones

Caroline and Sabrina loved the motorboat ride

We're told Erin got her red hair from Grandma Joan and her Holden ancestry

Chubby Charlie caught everyone's attention

Auntie Claire reading books

Soon enough the girls will be into princesses and dress-up. For now some tulle is all they need to have fun.

It's 10 pm. Do you know where your children are?

By 10:30 she finally passes out surrounded by pillows in the big bed
