High summer

After our trip to DC we spent the months of July and August at home (mostly), enjoying the brief New England summer

Lounging on the corpuscle swing at the hip interactive playground in Cambridge

We went blueberry picking for the first time and it was great, even easier than strawberry picking. Erin dressed up in her best blue outfit.

Caroline played around with the other kids, from Mom's friends at work

The next weekend we went to NY with the Keatings. This time around Erin got in on the fish catching, with Tom's help.

This fella measured in at 15 inches long, a new all-time record in 30 years of fishing at Summit Lake. Way to go Erin!

Sabrina & Brooke & baby Rowan came up to visit

We walked over to Wilson Farm

and went to the Science Museum, ROAR!

We went to the beach in Gloucester and had the sand all to ourselves

The water was too cold, but the girls played on the beach

One day the school flooded, but thankfully Uncle Peter & Aunt Claire were home to take care of the girls

What'll ya have, what'll ya have, what'll ya have? Our first full family trip to the Varsity in Atlanta

More dinosaurs, this time at the Fernbank Museum

MD & VA

We took our annual vacation to the DC area over the 4th of July. Our girls got to spend time with their cousins, including the latest addition, baby Rowan. We swam in the lake at Claire & Peter's and in the pool and Katy & Brad's, all the time treated to home-cooked meals... by someone else! If we could have stayed all summer we would have.

Six of the 7 cousins, ages 5, 4, 4, 3, 2, 2.

There's baby Rowan, six weeks old and already sleeping in Grandma Joan's arms

Caroline was very gentle with the newborn baby

The girls spent two nights at Claire & Peter's

where the older girls slept well together

Erin was left alone and pulled out all the Kleenexes

Enjoying a popsicle after an afternoon at the lake beach

Back in Maryland, Lyla & Caroline dressed up for a fairy festival

There were dozens of handcrafted fairy and gnome houses hidden in the woods around a sculpture garden

There were even unicorn rides!
